Here at McLeod Centers, we offer a variety of different services to help best serve each and every one of our patients.

Treatment
Residential Treatment Programs
The length of stay is generally 28 days, but can be tailored to satisfy individual needs that incorporate education on the disease of addiction with an individual, group, and family counseling.
Outpatient Services
- ASAM 2.1 Level of Care
- Program meets 3-4 times per week for 3 hours each session over an 8-10 week period with an optional continuing care one time per week for 6 weeks.
- Individuals enrolled in this program develop and begin using individual coping skills, improve decision making and develop a relapse prevention plan through a group setting with individual sessions as needed.
Short Term/Long Term (20/40)
- Group sessions meet 2 times per week for 2 hours each for either 10 (20 total hours) or 20 sessions (40 total hours)
- Individuals enrolled in this program develop and implement a relapse prevention plan and work toward individualized goals.
- Services are available virtually.
Continuing Care (Aftercare)
Includes weekly group sessions, over a 6 to 8 week period, to assist the patient with maintaining a connection to their support system while returning to their daily lives.
Medication-Assisted Treatment
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of FDA-approved medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a clinically-driven, “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of opioid use disorders.
Education
Drug Education School (DES)
- State-approved program under North Carolina General Statute 90-96 that allows for the conditional discharge of criminal convictions for first-time offenders accused of drug violations.
- Program is one week for 15 hours that gives individuals the opportunity to evaluate the role that substance abuse has played in their lives.
- Services are available virtually.
Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI)
- Designed especially for first-time offenders who have committed misdemeanor crimes.
- The goal of the program is to reduce the number of people who serve jail time and to give people charged with certain types of misdemeanors a second chance.
- Services are available virtually.
Case Management
Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities (TASC)
Serves as a resource to the community by offering patients referred by the Criminal Justice System an opportunity to address substance use/abuse issues through case management, drug screen monitoring, and treatment.
Deferred Prosecution
- A collaborative effort between TASC and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office.
- Successful completion may result in the dismissal of charges for first-time offenders.
- The District Attorney’s Office must approve all cases prior to acceptance into the program.
DWI Assessments
- The program helps guide you through the process of getting the necessary substance use treatment after suspension of driver’s license due to DWI.
- In addition, the clinical team is here to help navigate the steps toward license reinstatement.
- Services are available virtually.
